Tori has been providing beautiful nails since 2020.
I began the nail technician program at Mott Community College in Flint during January of 2020. I had no idea in just a few short months, my nail school experience and life would be changed. When we went into lockdown for Covid-19, I spent every waking second I had practicing and refining my craft. I got my license, my first job at a salon, and married all within two weeks!
My salon journey has taught me and continues to teach me so much. At the beginning I continued to learn the basics and try to up my speed. I painted nail art, but none of it was anything extreme. The salons I worked at such a high volume there usually wasn’t time for anything crazy. I craved a more art based environment where I could be more comfortable to come as I was, and I wanted to my clients to feel they could as well.
I started to get tattooed at Lansing Ink Therapy, where I instantly fell in love with the environment and the people that worked there. I had always dreamed of doing nails in a tattoo shop, but had no idea how I would achieve that. There already was a salon in the back of Ink Therapy, called Studio XO, but at the time they only offered lash services. I saw an opportunity to create a nail environment that was actually based around art. Fast forward to now, and I work in one of the coolest places with some of the coolest people I know.
My goal is to create nails for my clients that are a true form of self expression. The crazier the idea, the better it is! I want to help create art pieces for those important moments in your lives, and press ons that double as a decor piece! Nails are more than just nails, they are a voice for our inner creative.
